It is that time of year again, the one when the
holiday bills start to arrive in your mailbox and you really want to ask your
mail person to stop delivering any mail for a while. However, these bills are
unavoidable so there is something you should do before you pay them, get your credit report in fact you can get all
three reports from the same place.
When you made a lot of purchases using credit cards,
which we all know is not a good idea around the holidays but we do it anyway,
you really need to have a good look at your statements. It is a sad but true
fact that people do steal your credit card number, and use it for their own
malicious purposes.
This is why it is a good idea to get your free credit score and your credit report. If you check them now you can verify your accounts and
make sure that no identity theft has gone on with your accounts. When you go
online to a place like freescore, you can monitor your credit and get some tips
on safeguarding yourself against these awful thieves.
It is hard enough these days to survive the rising
cost of living without someone stealing your credit and possibly ruining your
credit score for years to come. So, try to arm yourself with all the knowledge you can, and be sure to
check those holiday bills that are coming in and your free credit score.
I will let you know how I did on my holiday spending
in another post, please share how you did on yours, so we can learn from each
other.
I am in no way affiliated with a credit score site.
I am confused as to why you must have credit card bills after the holidays! Just pay cash! I set aside an amount every month for Christmas and we never charge one penny of our gifts.
ReplyDeleteHi Momma-lana,
ReplyDeleteThat is what I try to do, this post is for those who don't use cash and need to watch for stolen numbers, or sales clerks and websites keeping their card number. They don't want any extra charges occuring, or at worst identity theft.
But I believe in saving every bit you can.
Hey, can you write a post about how you save?
Can't wait to hear from you. What is your blog?
